Corps Commander Medical Service Visit One Division Area of Responsibility
The Nigerian commandant Army Medical Corps, Brig Gen innocent Enwuchola who took over from his predecessor on 31 October 2025 has visited the 44 Nigerian army reference hospital Kaduna. Enwuchola told his personnel that he is focus on improving the medical corps of the Nigerian army while urging his men to do same. In keeping with the military tradition and for the new commandant to meet his men in the field, brig Gen Innocent Enwuchola visited and interact with his men to know the level of their operational preparedness and to discuss his vision as the new Commander of the Corps.
Brig Enwuchola says he is conducting a tour of various formations across the country. Which is part of the two days working visit to the 1 Division, Nigerian Army Area of Responsibility, focusing primarily on Kaduna metropolis. The purpose of this visit is to familiarize himself with the officers, civilian staff, and personnel of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps stationed within 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, 1 Division Medical services and hospitals, 2 Battalion Medical Reception Station and 312 Artillery Regiment Medical Reception Station, Kaduna.
The first point of call in Kaduna was a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen ASM Wase Before proceeding to the 44 army hospital. There, he engaged with personnel of the hospital directly to share his vision for advancing the Nigerian Army Medical Corps, which he outlined as “To have a highly motivated and professional Medical Corps that delivers excellent healthcare services in support of a combat-ready Nigerian Army.
Throughout the visit, he sought first-hand information on the activities and challenges of different departments within the medical services. Most notably, he conducted ward rounds to visit wounded-in-action soldiers who are on admission in the hospital. He further pledged significant improvements to hospital facilities, including upgrades and acquisition of modern equipment in keeping with international standards. The visit underscores the leadership’s commitment to enhancing medical support systems to ensure the Nigerian Army is combat ready through the quality of healthcare services offered to its personnel.
